The Rescuing Hug

 .
Ever wondered why kids feel good when you give them a hug or put them on your shoulder? Its nothing but the 'TOUCH' of your body through which the kids feel better. There are a lots of stories involved telling about the greatness of hug. The form may differ from place to place and person to person, but the feeling, always remains divine. Whether it is a 'Jadu ki Jhappi' in Munna Bhai MBBS or a cardle hug of a mother to her kids, a sweet embrace of a beloved with her love or a heart full dedicated devotee with the deity..the HUG always remains as eternal as it is made to be.

The story folowing is a true incident happened at Worcester in the year 1995. I hope you will enjoy this...

Kyrie and Brielle Jackson were born on October 17, 1995, at the Massachusetts Memorial Hospital in Worcester. Each of the twins weighed all of two pounds at birth and were each in their respective incubators, but one was not expected to live. Though Kyrie was putting on a bit of weight in the days following her arrival, her sister, Brielle, was not doing as well. She cried a great deal, leaving her gasping and blue-faced.

Brielle was having a particularly bad day. Newborn Intensive Care Unit nurse Gayle Kasparian tried everything to calm her. She held her. She had her dad hold her. She wrapped her in a blanket. She suctioned her nose.

Nothing worked.

Then she remembered hearing about a procedure done in Europe where twins were placed together in the same incubator; however, this was against Massachusetts Memorial Hospital's rules. Knowing that the one twin had little time to live, she put Brielle in the incubator with her sister Kyrie contrary to the hospital's rules.

The healthier twin Brielle snuggled up next to Kyrie and put her arm over her sister in an endearing embrace. Almost immediately the smaller baby's heart rate stabilized and her temperature rose to normal. Her blood-oxygen saturation levels, which had been frighteningly low, soared. She began to breathe more easily. The frantic crying stopped and her normal pinkish color quickly returned.

Over the next weeks, her health improved steadily in her new, less lonely quarters. The children survived their rocky beginning and in time went home with their parents. When last heard from, Brielle and Kyrie were healthy preschoolers.

When the dramatic change in Brielle's life became apparent to the hospital staff and then in the community, Chris Christo of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette came to the hospital and took a photograph of the two together. This photograph immediately became famous and has appeared in Life Magazine and Reader's Digest.

Why “Sweetie”, the doll is kept near to kids?

Have you ever thought why in most of the kid’s bed “Sweetie”, the cutest of all the dolls is found? There is a very good story behind it.

The story I am going to share is about moral courage. The courage of a small dew to associate with the storm by the ocean. The courage of a dim light to make the beauty through rainbow.

Long back in 1000B.C. there was a kingdom named “Dream-Land” ruled by a mighty king. It said that the period by the king was the ‘Golden Era’ of the then society. He had a sweet little daughter named ‘Sweetie’ who was too naughty to handle and too good to compare against. Somersault in the garden’s lotus filled water and running behind the butterflies are the small activities for the littlie kid. ‘Sweetie’ was so cute that an angel from heaven became her friend. They used to play all around the day. Never the less, the kid was extraordinarily talented in all areas.

But all the days are not of autumn and all happy days are not to stay long.

One day a demon came to the kingdom and started killing the innocent people and challenged the king to fight in any way. The king sent his best men to kill the demon but the beast killed all like small ants.

The king was worried about how to handle the beast. But there was no change in the schedule for the Sweet kid’s play with rainbow. One day the demon came to the palace with an offer of peace. The king was happy.

Demon - “I have a condition for peace”

King – “I am ready for all your conditions for safety of my people”

Demon – “Give me your daughter and I ll go out of your country”

There was a pin drop silence in the king’s courtyard. The king was looking pale, without blood after hearing the condition. One side his thousands of innocent people and in the other side his cute little daughter who is innocent as well.

There was nothing to communicate except the thundering sound of silence. The courtyard was mute but a cyclone was pouring in everyone’s heart.

A storm happened. ‘Sweetie’ came into the courtyard followed by the angel who was invisible to others.

Sweetie to demon –“I am ready to go with you, but I have a condition”

Demon laughed and told, “I am ready for all your conditions”

Sweetie –“We will have a fight and if you can do what I say then I will go with you”

The day was fixed. The next Sunday.

The king could not sleep till that day. But Sweetie was quite normal.

It was a calm sunbathed Sunday. Sweetie came. On the way the angel told her what to do. There was a big crowd to see how the little kid will fight with the demon.

Demon –“What you want me to do?’

Sweetie –“Let’s throw one stone of individual’s choice. The one, who can send it farther, will win”

The demon laughed and took a big stone. Then he threw that with all his power. All were watching to the sky…..stone vanished and after one hour it came back. Now it’s Sweetie’s turn.

Sweetie was already come prepared as per the angel’s advice. She opened her bag and threw one stone to the sky……to the surprise after 2 – 3 hours also it did not come back. All were surprised and praised Sweetie.

The demon felt shame and thundered…..”What’s your next test?”

Sweetie –“Lets take another stone of our choice and squeeze. The one who can squeeze so hard that it will become liquid….will win”

The demon took a big stone and squeezed it so hard that it became totally dust and mixed with air. He laughed like a winner and turned towards Sweetie.

Everyone started praying for Sweetie thinking that there is no other way than defeat.

Sweetie saw the angel and smiled. She put her hand in the hand bag and took a small while stone and squeezed. To the utter surprise some white liquid came out of that. The spectators were mute for a moment and then showered with claps.

The demon was burning in anger and his tooth cracking was making sound.

“Enough is enough, tell me the next test, if you will win then I will leave your area for ever”, the demon asked Sweetie

“Ok, this will be the final test. We will take two-two stones of our own choice and have to stick one stone with other so that they wont separate”, Sweetie announced.

The demon took two stone and tried his best to stick one to the other.

Then he turned to Sweetie and told that this is not possible. You are cheating. If you can do this ….I will go from your area immediately otherwise I will kill all of you.

All were afraid. Sweetie opened her bag. Took two black stones and put one on another and started playing with them. All were surprised that the stones were joined to each other and appearing as one.

The demon felt ashamed of being defeated from a little kid and ran away from the place instantly. The place was full of joy and happiness. All were praising Sweetie.

The king came and hugged her little daughter. The joy of happiness was told by his tears. Then he asked, dear Sweetie, please tell us how you did all those unbelievable things.

Sweetie smiled and started telling. All were with ears to listen the kid who gave them the victory and life.

For the first test, I secretly kept my little dove in the hand bag and when my turn came to throw a stone. I throw the little bird and flew away and went to its nest, so it never back.

All were thrilled by listening to the intelligence.

In the second test when I had to squeeze a stone, actually had a “Rasogulla” in my bag and I squeezed that and the sugar syrup came out.

“And in the third test?” Asked the enthused king.

Sweetie smiled and told. Papa, those are not stones, one was a big magnet and other was an iron ball. So they stick each other as one.

The king was overjoyed with his little daughter’s intelligence so as the people. After that day mothers started keeping sweetie doll beside their kids believing that demons won’t come fearing the intelligence of Sweetie.

The Ka Ka of Crow

Why the Crow makes sounds like Ka...Ka...Ka...Ka ??? Have you ever thought of ??? There is a very good story behind this.

The story is of thousand years old. God was distributing qualities n traits to all creatures. All were in a Q and were in a hurry to get good traits. It was the time for all birds and animals. Lion got the thunder-stone roar, elephant got the whistle and so on…..Among the birds all got some kind of traits except Cuckoo and Crow. Everybody knew that Crow is very intelligent so it will get the best trait. Crow also promised to his best friends Sweety and Cutie that he will get the best. God called the cuckoo and gave the sweet voice. The crow was thinking then what I will get??? God called the crow and gave the Ka Ka voice to it.

All the birds went to a big field to test their traits. All made the demonstration. It’s the time for cuckoo now….She sang a beautiful song and praised. It’s the turn for Crow now. All were expecting the best …..the crow started ….Ka Ka Ka Ka….There was a pin drop silence and then all burst with laughter. The crow felt shame and decided to commit suicide.

He went to the top of the mountain. He was about to jump but stopped with a sweet but dearly voice. Yes…. Sweety and Cutie were calling.

The crow told with tear, “I don’t want to live with this shame”. Then sweety told ….ok…we won’t stop you. But listen for a minute.

Crow…OK

“Meet our friend”, Guardian Angel, told Cutie.

A sweet girl with a everlasting smile came forward and told to the crow, “Do as I say for a minute”. The crow titled his head

“Shout at your best”, the angel told

"AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"………

To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating, somewhere in the mountain:"AAAhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"

With curiosity, he yelled: "Who are you?"
He receives the answer: "Who are you?"

And then the crow saw the angel for a moment and screamed to the mountain: "I hate you!"

The voice answers: "I hate you!"

Angered at the response, the crow screamed: "Coward!"
He received the answer: "Coward!"

Then the crow looked at the angel with a question mark: "What's going on? Are you doing some kind of magic?’

The angel smiled and said: "My friend, pay attention and try once again."

Again the crow screamed: "You are a champion!"
The voice answered: "You are a champion!"

The crow was in utter illusion, but could not understand.

Then the angel explained: "God created this special system named as ECHO, but really this is LIFE. It gives you back everything you say or do. Our life is simply a reflection of our actions. If you want more love in the world, create more love in your heart".

“Why are you telling this to me? What bad thing I have done that God gave me this bad trait?” the crow asked with tears.

The angel took the crow in her hand told, my dear crow, in the Eyes of the God you are most intelligent creature of the world who can teach the best lesson to all the creatures. You can teach the world that ECHO is LIFE. You only can spread LOVE and happiness in the real meaning….not others. That’s why God gave you the power of ECHO in your voice. You will always say KA KA….which is nothing but the echo. You will make the world to get up in the morning and with your KA KA ….you will remind them their course of action. Who will follow your voice will be a saint in the real sense who can spread and get LOVE in return.

The crow cried with happiness from its heart. Thanked the God for giving such a big responsibility to a small bird.

From that day onwards crow is making the world to get up in the morning and reminding the world about the importance of ECHO…the Life.
